We believers are in Christ, in the Spirit, and in God’s kingdom. We are alive and connected to God as slaves of righteousness. We can’t escape our destiny of expressing righteousness.

Unbelievers, on the other hand, are in the flesh. Because of that, they have only one way to set their minds and one way to walk. Unbelievers can only set their minds on the flesh. Unbelievers can only walk by the flesh. Therefore, they cannot please God, no matter what they think or do (Romans 8:8). In contrast, we as believers can set our minds two different ways—on the flesh or on the Spirit. Also, we can walk two different ways—by the flesh or by the Spirit.
